This Oceania (or Australian continent+ pacific islands) pin map features 18 natural landmarks. It is printed on a light durable canvas that can be used for many geography lessons. The pins are backless so you can just set them on top or attach magnets. Each pin has a matching card that tells you the name, location, description, and has a photo, map, and thinking questions. It also comes with a glossy cardstock control chart so you know where to put the pins.

Answer: To fit all of the pacific islands!

Long Answer: In the unit (coming soon), we talk about the wonder of Polynesian people navigating the pacific ocean in relatively small vessels to settle small islands without modern navigation equipment. Additionally half of the natural landmarks highlighted in this set are off of the mainland of Australia. In trying to keep it to scale and demonstrate how spread out these islands are I had no choice but to keep the mainland of Australia a little smaller than the other continent maps.
